A geocaching buddy of mine is having problems
finding some of my recent finds, So I put out a nice and easy 1/1
cache for him.
The listed coordinates will bring you to a
small public access area with a great view of the city just north
of Seattles highest point.
According to the Seattle Department of
Transportation Webpage the highest points above sea level in
Seattle are in order
1.) A spot 6 parcels south of watertower at
35th Ave SW and SW Myrtle Street - 520 feet
2.) Near Bitter Lake, on N 145th St just east
of Greenwood Ave - 493 feet
3.) NE 92nd ST and Roosevelt Way NE - 466
feet
4.) Queen Anne Hill, at First Ave N and Lee
Street - 456 feet
There is a small magnetic keyholder under the
middle bench
What altitude does your GPSr say when at the
bench ?
My Magellan SporTrak said 490ft above Sea
Level
There is a benchmark nearby that you can log
corrected coords are N 47° 32.383 W 122°
22.713

I found this cache with Icongirl, who lives nearby -- her 2nd cache! What a gorgeous day and a lovely view.
The coordinates were a 100m off with my GPS -- not sure if it's my GPS or the gov't's bombing somewhere and throwing off the reading. I got the following on my Garmin GPS 12:
N 47deg 32.362' W 122deg 22.648'
Elevation was 160m (525 ft).
Thanks for the cache!

#61 ~ Wow, the view from here is fantastic! We attempted to get a family picture with the skyline in the background but we weren't successful. Our self-portrait skills need improvement! Thank you for bringing us to this location.
